WoT has had the same problem for years and now there is a Ships version, really depressing to think that people will pay to cheat but they obviously do. There is a certain "pay monthly for" set of "mods" that for instance show ALL torps in the water, spotted or not and there path, like redlines on the water, easy to avoid. What happened was that he met the special snowflake DD player, who slots the target acquisition module instead of the concealment one.Īlthough there is a huge element of not understanding the game mechanics here there are some rather nasty hacks out there. But how oblivious can someone be?After 9k games one should know the mechanics and the stupidity of the playerbase. Haxxs!!111ĭon't get me wrong, I like the dude. He got detected by a kitakaze sitting in smoke despite not shooting, when the kita fired at him she was ~3.2km away. New clanmate of mine just ranted about similar stuff in Ranked a few days ago. It is also possible that they are running upgrades/captain skills that increase the detection range of torpedoes making them far easier to avoid. Judging by such, I'd put it down to hydro/radar, good aim and gamesense from the enemy ships. Hence, it is impossible for a client-sided mod to show you that information if it is server-sided. I.E When you or a friendly ship are detecting an enemy or torpedoes which are in your view range then that is the only time your client knows and displays said ship/torpedoes. If I remember right, both are server-sided calculations.
